On Friday, June 19th, Billboard-charting singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski will share her stunning cover of Jason Mraz’s global hit ‘Back To Earth’. Cassandra recorded the cover on Earth Day 2020 and her rendition is almost 100% A Capella making it a real standout from the artist.
Her luscious lead vocal has been laid over lush stacks of harmonies that ebb and flow against each other in an easy foundation, accented only by an egg shaker. The track features production and additional vocals from Tony Daniels, a frequent collaborator of Kubinski’s, and co-writer/co-producer of her last EP ‘DREAMS’.
Speaking about sharing her version of ‘Back To Earth’, Cassandra Kubinski says: “It feels important to release this song now, as we are all stepping back outside after months of quarantine. Nature offers us space and vibration that is so intrinsically healing and recentering and can help us cut through the noise and digital distraction and remember what’s really important to us. I think we can all use that now, space and quiet and beauty and a reminder that it is the Earth that we all share, no matter what our background, preferences, or lifestyle…the planet is our home, and as long as we take care of it, it is there to nourish, support, and even literally feed us…not just our bodies, but our minds, hearts, and ability to connect with one another.
Jason Mraz is one of my favorite artists, not just his witty, soulful lyrics and catchy melodies, but his humanness and how he really walks the walk on what he talks about. His band, Raining Jane, is all female. He shows up to play and support causes from pet rescue to arts education to race equality. He is an avocado farmer when not creating music and touring. That type of “living the message” inspires me to consider what steps I can take, and my fans can take, to live more harmoniously with the earth and each other.”
